BLAINE, Wash. -- A man wanted in California is behind bars after agents caught him at the border in Blaine.
Seventy-one-year-old Christopher Darling was driving a commercial truck when he tried to enter the U.S. at the Pacific Highway Port of Entry Monday.
Chief Thomas Schreiber with U.S. customs and border protection says darling is accused of sexual assault in San Diego, and he had a national criminal information center felony warrant out for his arrest.
Schreiber credits technology used at the border after 911 with the instantaneous name check that revealed Darling was a wanted man.
