Some were incredulous at my assertion this morning that Boeing gets big tax breaks from the state of Washington. Well, read it and weep if you're one of them. $3.2 billion to keep the Dreamliner assembly here. I simply say corporations like Boeing should enter the "share the pain" bigtop with the rest of us. They get their breaks back and state workers get a break when the economy improves.
Like a caller said this morning, it sure seems there are no ethics left anymore among the business elite.
Nobody was incredulous at your assertion this morning that boeing gets big tax breaks, They were incredulous at your assertion that boeing doesn't pay its fair share. Think of the property taxes they must pay, the taxes that are incurred over the upkeep of the facility, the taxes that they pay for company vehicles company fuels etc. Not to mention that they emply several thousand workers in the area that pay property/sales/income/power excise taxes et al. Callers were incredulous that you continuously stated that there were many corps in the state recieving "billions" in tax cuts and you have identified one. Weyerhouser and GP. do a fraction of the business they used to, and employ a fraction of the persons they used to. Israel steel is gone from the sea-tac area the tacoma smelters are gone, simpson timber company has sold many of its assets and producing less than ever before, and the list could go on, this is just off the top of my head. Now, In these tough economic times according to our president "the toughest since the great depression" certainly at least as tough as it was during 1979 do you really want to burden a company that is still doing business? do you really want to kick a company in the groin that employs many local people? Wouldn't any sane person think 1) they moved their headquarters out of seattle some 10 years ago.
2)South Carolina and the area there is a right to work area, they are guarenteeing leese rates, and taxes for 30 years (according to the gov't official interviewed in 2009-2010. The TVA has agreed to provide the power needed, (No Bonneville power drama)
3)If the company can make the same product to the same specifications, and increase the shareholders pocketbooks in the process...
Any sane person wouldn't want to lose the tax revenue from the business' employees and would do all it could to continue to have a good working relationship with the coorp.
I do not think anyone was incredulous at your assertion, the listening public would like to know who are the "many coorps in washington recieving billions in tax breaks" and then when the real unemployment of the working class in the state (U-6) is 20% why you would want to spit in the face of a company that is employing thousands of workers, paying dividends and despite their "profit" that is a projection based on a semi perfect world where a nest egg for unforseen circumstances is necessary, and another strike could void more contracts for the 787. And one other note about boeing, the national labor relations board is forcing them to defend themselves in court (wouldn't that money be better spent in the local community?) Why joe would you want anyone to read and weep what most of us know, boeing gets tax breaks, so, they provide jobs here locally. It is a zero sum pie, if you require more in the form of taxes the companies are going to make that money up somewhere, if they are in the smart phone, computer, software industry, they typically ship manufacturing overseas, the only thing that I heard the listener be incredulous about is the talk show host who thinks one can have his cake, and eat it too.
James Patterson, and Peter Kim did a study in the 80S called the day America told the truth. 90% of people admitted to lying on a regular basis 30% admitted to telling or living with big lies, your caller said there are no ethics left anymore among the business elite, I contend there are very few ethical people in any walk of life, and unlike an op ed piece I base that on fact based statistical gatherings. Your assertions today attack the life blood of this area, you would have better served by pointing out the leadership of the state failing its people. I am sure if we had a republican govenor, or a republican house or a republican senate you would have been correctly blaming the proper parties. 9 outta 10

democrats have ran GP, Barron heating. walton beverage, wilsons furniture right out of town to name a few, I'm sure costco, walmart, and intalco are close behind if they are smart. The democrats have also ran multiple huge businesses out of the state and they are a Boeing and Microsoft move away from total collapse. Democrats new state budget is inflated $4 billion dollars and they wonder where the money is gonna come from??
Hey joey how come when the democrats in Bham gave tax breaks to builders to build in the downtown district you are a "breath of fresh air" in defense of such tax breaks that bring in "pennies" to the city tax base, but when it's BIG BUSINESS that brings in "billions" to city and state coffers, you still want more? It's never enough? You whore out your democrat agendas that cost Americans there dreams. All your emotional Marxist ideas "cost and bring in nothing" except misery, dependence, reliance, corruption, and divide Americans. I'm glad that democrats embrace abortion and have them often, we don't need those kids growing up voting and acting like their parents.
Also is it just me, I have noticed a lot of anger in your voice and comments lately. You are starting to act like the occupiers. Are you tired of defending your lies? your failure of a president? Your smug condescending jabs at callers are becoming more frequent. Admitting your overweight and out of shape I'm concerned you might be headed for a heart attack or some crippling illness? They are predicting heavy snow this winter and I wouldn't want them to find you dead on the sidewalk from all that shoveling following the city law you democrats imposed.

We shouldn't be giving tax breaks to Boeing, but boy if we want them to keep themselves right here in Washington we need to kiss their posteriors and polish some knobs and even then we can’t guarantee they will stay and keep jobs in Washington.
Hell we keep on giving them tax breaks and they just use us up and leave us. Am I the only one who remembers them moving their headquarters from Seattle to Chicago? We were full on letting them use us like the republicans use the religious zealots and they still got up and left Washington State, after we pandered to them!
These compa-ninnies want our governments eating out of their hands, its just one more bit of power for them to get off on. Much like our local hospital, (spiderbellingham.wordpress.com).

Hello Webmaster, I noticed that http://joe.kgmi.com/2011/10/27/boeings-big-breaks/ is ranking pretty low on Google and has a low Google PageRank. Now the Google PageRank is how Google is able to see how relevant your webpage is compared to all the other webpages online, if you cannot rank high at the top of Google, then you will NOT get the traffic you need. Now usually trying to get to the top of Google costs hundreds if not thousands of dollars and very highly optimized targeted marketing campaigns that takes a team of experts months to achieve. However, we can show you how to get to the top of Google with no out of pocket expenses (free traffic), no stupid ninja tricks, no silly mind control techniques, and this will be all white hat with no blackhat software or tactics that could possibly land you on bad terms with Google and put you in the dreaded "Google Sandbox". We'll show you how to easily capture all the targeted traffic you need, for free, multiple ways to land fast (not months) first-page rankings in Google and other major search engines (Bing, Yahoo, Ask, etc), even show you strategies on how to earn daily commissions just try Ranking Top of Google, please check out our 5 minute video.
