OAK HARBOR, Wash. (Metro) -- A member of the Oak Harbor City Council walks out of a meeting after his motion to ban guns from the council was defeated. Councilman Rick Almberg submitted the motion January 15 after a military veteran spoke against gun control and informed the Council he carried a gun with him at all times. On a 4 to 2 vote, the council rejected Almberg's motion to ban guns from council meetings, after which Almberg excused himself and left the Council chamber. Oak Harbor Mayor Scott Dudley later apologized to the veteran for the Council's vote. Copyright © 2013 Metro Networks Inc.
