Custer Man Gets 12 Years For Drug Smuggling

SEATTLE, Wash. -- A Whatcom County man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for conspiring to smuggle massive amounts of cocaine to Canada.

52-year-old Custer resident Glen Stewart was arrested in May of last year when he picked up a vehicle in Lynnwood he thought contained four-million-dollars worth of cocaine.

Authorities had infiltrated the smuggling ring and replaced the drugs with sham cocaine.

Stewart worked as a courier for Hells Angels Associates in B.C.
Two dozen people in the U.S. and in Canada have been charged in the case.
