Two men were watching a girls’ basketball tournament at the school Saturday morning when they started arguing outside the gym.
Whatcom County Sheriffs Sergeant Scott Huso says the argument quickly turned into a fist fight.
He says that's when 32-year-old Larry Fenner pulled out a pocket knife and stabbed the other man in the left shoulder.
Officers from Everson Police, Nooksack Tribal Police and Customs and Border Protection arrived at the high school to help during the incident.
