Flight To Seattle Diverted After Mid-Air Decompression

SAN JOSE, Calif.  (Metro)  -- Officials say an electrical failure caused a loss of cabin pressure on an Alaska Airlines flight bound for Seattle, prompting an emergency landing in San Jose.

The Boeing 737-400 took off yesterday morning from Ontario, California, and the decompression took place about 40 minutes later.

Airline officials say the crew was able to manually pressurize the cabin and descend to 10,000 feet, but not before some passengers complained of intense ear pain during the pressure drop.

After the jet landed, the passengers were booked on other flights to Seattle.
