JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel's Justice Ministry said on Thursday it would charge Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman with fraud and breach of trust, though a more serious corruption case against him has been closed.
Lieberman, the most powerful partner in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's rightist coalition government, has denied any wrongdoing. The announcement comes less than six weeks before an Israeli election that Netanyahu is predicted to win.
"(Lieberman) is being charged with fraud and breach of trust," a ministry spokesman said.
