Mistrial Declared In Case Against Former Marysville Cop

MARYSVILLE, Wash. (Metro) -- A judge declares a mistrial after a jury fails to reach a verdict in the case against a former Marysville police officer accused of manslaughter.

Prosecutors alleged that Derek Carlile left a loaded gun in his van with his four young children on March 10.

Carlile's seven-year-old daughter was accidentally shot and killed by her three-year-old brother, who grabbed the gun from a compartment in the driver's side door.

Prosecutors say they'll meet with jurors and decide whether to retry Carlile.
