NY Reported Swamping Single Open Starbucks After Storm

New York, NY (Metro) -- There's a report that New York City residents were swamping the only Starbucks open in Midtown Manhattan yesterday Tuesday following Hurricane Sandy.

"Seattlepi.com" quoted reports in "The New York Post" and the "Starbucks Gossip" blog.

Social media got word out that the store next to the Marriott Marquis off Times Square was open, and people on foot and in town cars responded.

Some customers said it was scary not having Starbucks.

There's been no comment from Starbucks headquarters in Seattle.
