BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Troopers say a Deming woman is lucky to be alive after she rear-ended a trailer load of long wooden poles on the Mt. Baker Highway east of Bellingham (photos).
The 36-year-old was taken to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical center with non-life threatening injuries after the crash at 9:45 this morning near Everson Goshen Road.
The State Patrol reports the load of poles smashed through her car’s windshield and came all the way out its back window.
The 60-year-old BC man driving the car towing the trailer told investigators he had slowed down for a turning dump truck.
Troopers did not release the names of anyone involved in the crash.
