Several Lynden Cheerleaders Sick After Competition



LYNDEN, Wash. -- Several members of the Lynden Cheerleader Squad are recovering from illness after competing in a tournament in Everett over the weekend.

Seven cheerleaders and the coach of the 23-member squad reported nausea, diarrhea and vomiting after returning from the competition at the Comcast Arena Saturday.

German Gonzalez with the Whatcom County Health Department says the symptoms are similar to those of a norovirus…



Snohomish county officials are working closely with the State Department of Health in trying to find the cause and source of the illness.

Nineteen of the 52 squads that participated have reported someone sick.

More than 3000 attended the event.
