OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The hunt continues for the source of a six-mile oil sheen at Deception Pass.
Washington State Department of Ecology officials say the oil is too thin to skim off the water, but they've collected a sample they hope will help identify the spiller.
The oil has touched the shore in some areas.
Ecology advises people to avoid contact with the oil.
The sheen was reported about noon yesterday by a witness on the bridge.
Anyone in the area who witnessed the spill or has any information that might lead to the source, is asked to call the Washington State Emergency Management Division.
