LYNDEN, Wash. -- A suspect in a police chase in Everson was the focus of a Lynden manhunt yesterday.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Doug Chadwick says deputies tried to capture 21-year-old Vicente Galvez-Cruz in a Lynden home yesterday afternoon, but he was gone by the time they arrived.

Chadwick says Lynden police, a Bellingham Police canine unit, and a U.S. customs and border protection helicopter were called in to help with the search on Lynden’s east side.

He says Galvez-Cruz is wanted on three felony and two misdemeanor warrants.

It’s unknown whether he’s armed, but if you see him, you should not try to apprehend him, and call 911.
