It’s time for Alzheimer Society of Washington‘s 15th Annual Miles for Memories 5K Walk/Run to fund the fight against memory loss! Families, teams, dogs and costumes are all welcomed and encouraged! There will be music, food, awards and prizes.

In Whatcom County alone, it’s estimated that one of every eight county seniors, 65 and older, lives with some form of dementia. The funds raised by this event are used to provide hope and a network of caring by offering education and resources through support groups and workshops

Young artists (ages 9-13) will get to see make-up artist Julie Marantette turn her assistant into an alien monster…then, using examples from Whatcom Museum‘s The Art Of Genre: Posters From Hollywood’s Golden Age, they’ll get to transform themselves into imaginative characters!
