Bike MS: “Deception Pass Classic”

It’s fun, it’s challenging and it’s for a great cause–Bike MS: Deception Pass Classic! Every mile pedaled and every dollar raised will help create a world free of Multiple Sclerosis. The ride takes you on an unforgettable, two-day journey through Skagit, Whatcom and Island Counties. As many as 2,000 riders will cruise along scenic figure-eight courses, ranging from 22 to 97 miles. Full meals, generous amenities, stunning landscapes, fully stocked rest stops and spirited festivities are all included!

Nominees should be organizations or individuals who have “creatively resolved conflict; contributed to peaceful dispute resolution and promoted reconciliation, effective communication or understanding between divergent groups of individuals or have otherwise contributed to peace within our community” in the past year.

“Run4Refuge” Fundraiser

Everyone, from seasoned runners to casual walkers (including kids and pets), is invited to join the 2nd annual “Run4Refuge” 2.6 mile walk/run around Bellingham’s Lake Padden. Run4Refuge benefits Engedi Refuge Ministries–a local non-profit that helps women recovering from the effects of sexual trafficking & exploitation.  It’s hosted by Hope4Justice, an anti-trafficking group in Whatcom County.  The event starts and ends at the Rotary Shelter (near the baseball field) on the east side of Lake Padden.
