SEATTLE, Wash. – An additional 15 claims have been filed against Washington state and Snohomish County on behalf of victims of the March 22 Oso mudslide.
The Seattle Times reports that the claims served Monday include 11 allegations of wrongful death.
Others involve property damage claims and claims for injuries to a child and for emotional distress.
Washington state and the county have 60 days to respond before lawsuit proceedings could begin.
Twelve of the cases were filed by Seattle lawyer Corrie Yackulic, who previously filed three other mudslide-related, wrongful-death actions.
The other three cases were filed by lawyer Karen Willie, who previously filed a wrongful-death claim for the family of victim Lon Slauson.
No damages are specified.
The mudslide killed 42 people.
One other person, Kris Regelbrugge, is still missing.
