BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Port of Bellingham wants to amend its agreement with the Department of Ecology so it can redevelop and open up the Georgia Pacific west cleanup site faster.

Department of Ecology spokesperson Dustin Terpening says they just released a thousand page environmental report on the contamination they found on the Bellingham waterfront site.

Both the amendment and the environmental report on the site’s contamination are available for public review and comment through July 17.
