BELLINGHAM, Wash. – A group of artists and community leaders need your help to make their dream space a reality.

The Commercial Street Theatre Project plans to renovate the vacant space in the city owned Parkade at 1302 Commercial Street into a 200 seat, state of the art, multi-use performing arts venue.

Pam Kuntz with the project says when they went to community artists and businesses and asked if they would like and use the space, they all said yes.

They’re using Indiegogo, an internet crowd funding site as their fundraising platform.

They hope to raise $300,000 by July 3.

That money will cover half of the renovation costs of the space.

The space will be available to anyone who would like to rent and use it for rehearsing and performing theatre, dance and music.

Go to Indiegogo.com and search for “Commerical Street Theatre Project” to make a pledge.
