BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The number of passengers flying out of Bellingham International Airport continues to grow.
More than 311,000 passengers flew out of the airport in the first half of this year.
That is a 10.6 percent increase over the same time last year.
Port of Bellingham Aviation Director Dan Zenk says the airport is seeing slightly slower growth this year than the past seven years.
Last year, the airport saw an 11.5 percent jump in passengers.
Zenk says the airport is forecast to continue growing for at least the next 20 years.
More than half of the passengers that have flown out of the airport this year were on Allegiant Air flights.
