The Bells started things off with a bang Sunday afternoon at Borleske Stadium as Alex Calbick hit an opposite field solo homerun in the top half of the first inning, but it was all the offense Bellingham could muster.
Walla Walla quickly grabbed the lead right back in the bottom half of the first frame thanks to a two-out, two-run single from the Sweet’s catcher Ranae Martinez. Spencer O’Neil pushed another run across in the 6th to give the Sweets a two-run lead, which was all the bullpen needed.
The Bells move to 20-18 on the season, and head next to Wenatchee where they’ll start a three game series with the division leading Applesox. The two teams will begin the series Wednesday night at 7:05pm. Hear live coverage on bellinghambells.com
