OLYMPIA, Wash. – People are rushing to enter the marijuana business in Washington State and in Whatcom County.
The state Liquor Control Board is reporting a big jump in applications for marijuana growers, processors and retailers as Friday’s deadline approaches.
Mikhail Carpenter with the board says the number of retail pot shops will be limited in each community.
The state has received 25 applications for pot shops in Whatcom County, but only 15 will be allowed.
