BLAINE, Wash. – A meeting in Blaine this morning will cover Washington State’s plans for rail improvements.
Blaine’s Assistant Public Works Director Bill Bullock says the meeting will include a discussion on a possible railroad depot for the border community.
He says many people are interested in pursuing a railroad depot in Blaine, although there is no plan in the works at this time.
The state’s plans include a study for a new passenger rail depot in Auburn and bullock says the meeting is an opportunity to see if a similar rail stop would be feasible in Blaine.
The meeting is from 9 a.m. to noon at Blaine City Hall.
