Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – LaMarcus Aldridge scored 27 points as the
Portland Trail Blazers overcame a sluggish first quarter to top the Brooklyn
Nets 108-98 at Barclays Center to claim their seventh straight victory.
The Nets scored on 19 of their first 20 possessions en route to a 40-point
opening quarter. Portland settled down defensively after that, as Brooklyn
cooled down to the tune of 22 percent (9-of-41) from the floor in the second
Wesley Matthews netted 24 points in the win while Damian Lillard contributed
19 points and nine assists. Mo Williams added 12 points off the bench.
Shaun Livingston, who started his second straight game for the injured Deron
Williams, paced Brooklyn with 23 points. Kevin Garnett made his first six
shots but finished 8-for-19 shooting. The 19-year vet ended up with 16 points
and eight rebounds.
