SUMAS, Wash. – Crews are working on the railroad crossing at East Badger and Garrison Road after a high speed chase and crash took down the crossing warning system.
Burlington Northern Santa Fe spokesperson Gus Melonas says they are taking extra safety precautions.
Yesterday morning 27-year-old Chase Newman led police on a high speed chase that ended when he struck the warning system, rolling his truck.
The crash took down the crossing arms as well as the warning signal.
Melonas says the replacement will be very costly.
Crews should have the equipment repaired later this week.
