BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Self proclaimed anti-coal candidate Bob Burr has edged out Allen Brown to run for the at-large seat of the Bellingham City Council in November.
Burr beat Brown by 166 votes after all of the primary ballots were finished being counted Wednesday.
Burr says he’s the only candidate who is speaking out against the coal trains which would be coming through Bellingham if the Gateway Pacific Terminal is built.
Burr also says he won’t accept any campaign contributions.
He will take on Roxanne Murphy, who easily won the first spot on the November general election ballot with 51 percent of the primary vote.
