EVERETT, Wash. – The Tacoma “News Tribune” reports Boeing has issued notices to 253 Puget Sound-area workers that they’ll be laid off by mid-July.
It’s the third set of workforce reductions Boeing has scheduled so far this year.
The company says it’s trimming engineering and technical-worker positions that have been made redundant by the reduction of work on 787 and 747-8 jets.
More than a thousand Puget Sound-area employees will be laid off in June.
