Bomb threat disrupts Port Townsend ferry service

PORT TOWNSEND, Wash. – A bomb threat prompted cancellation of several Washington state ferry runs Tuesday evening on the Port Townsend-Coupeville route.

Washington State Patrol bomb squad investigators and local police responded to the Port Townsend terminal after a threat arrived via text message.

The  ferry was held at the terminal while the area was checked by bomb-sniffing dogs.

Washington State Ferries resumed with an 8:30 p.m. sailing from Port Townsend and a 9:15 p.m. sailing from Coupeville.
