MOUNT VERNON, Wash. – District 2 Congressman Rick Larsen says getting the federal money to repair the I-5 bridge in Mount Vernon won’t be a problem.
Larsen took a tour Tuesday of the area where a section of the bridge collapsed on May 23.
Officials say a semi truck with an oversize load clipped several overhead girders, causing the bridge section to tumble into the Skagit River.
A temporary span is set to be installed and ready by mid-June.
