BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Student loan rates are set to double later this summer if congress doesn’t act soon.
Congresswoman Susan DelBene says they have to act before that deadline to keep college affordable for students.
DelBene is frustrated because house leadership blocked her bill from getting a vote.
The lower 3.4% rate for subsidized Stafford loans is set to expire July 1ST and double to 6.8%.
