BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Two Cost Cutter locations in Bellingham will close down later this year.

According to a press release sent out Friday, The Markets, LLC  will close the Meridian location to make way for a new undisclosed tenant.

The Sunset Square location will also close, but Safeway will acquire the pharmacy center and keep it open.

Cost-Cutter pharmacy employees will stay on when Safeway takes over.

Employees at both locations will be put in other stores according to union contracts.

The Markets have not said how many employees would be affected.
