WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – The Whatcom County Council will discuss a possible ban on riding inner tubes down the south fork of the Nooksack River at a meeting today.
Councilmember Bill Knutzen says bad behavior by some people on the river is ruining it for everybody.
He says homeowners along the river have many problems with tubers and he’s hopeful that they can come up with a solution.
The council may consider a full ban or allow a recreation company to control tubing on the river.
The council will discuss the issue at 3:00 p.m. at the Whatcom County Courthouse.
No final decision on tubing will be made at today’s meeting.
