WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Susan DelBene says she disappointed that the House failed to pass a farm bill.
She says the original bill passed by the Agriculture Committee had broad bi-partisan support.
The House passed an amendment that removed key provisions of a section known as the “Dairy Security Act,” which would have stabilized dairy prices for farmers and consumers.
The final House bill also included cuts to the food stamp program.
Congress has been unable to pass a reauthorized farm bill since it expired a year ago.
