WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – The leader of a Whatcom County drug ring will spend 20 years in prison.

U.S. Attorney Roger Rogoff says Todd Hamilton ran the largest drug trafficking organization in Whatcom County after he got out of prison in 2011.

Play Roger Rogoff on sentencing

Sixteen people including Hamilton have been indicted for their role in the drug ring.

They have all pleaded guilty.

One last person still awaits sentencing.

Prison time for the group ranges from 18 months to Hamilton’s 20 years.

Since Hamilton’s arrest, Rogoff says police have seen a major drop in drug trafficking in Whatcom County.
