OLYMPIA, Wash. – A local state Senator is disappointed Governor Jay Inslee signed a climate change agreement with leaders of British Columbia, California and Oregon without consulting state lawmakers first.

The Pacific Coast Action Plan on Climate and Energy states the region will account for the costs of carbon pollution and clean energy programs where possible.

Republican Doug Ericksen of Ferndale explains that although the governor signed the plan, it is a non-binding agreement.

Ericksen says he and others on the Climate Legislative Executive Workgroup Committee will put together a menu of options for the state legislature.

It will show the costs of implementing certain proposals and the impacts they would have on local industries and residents.
