FERNDALE, Wash. – State Senator Doug Ericksen says the governor jumped the gun earlier this week when he proposed an absolute cap on carbon-fuel emissions.
The Ferndale Republican says lawmakers are still brainstorming ideas for how to address state carbon emissions.
Ericksen says the state shouldn’t sacrifice good paying jobs to offset carbon emissions that may or may not happen in the future.
He says because of abundant hydro-power electricity, Washington still has one of the lowest carbon footprints in the country.
