Ex-UW player suspected in Bank Robbery

(Seattle, WA)  —  A former University of Washington football player is facing charges after being accused of participating in a bank robbery.  Ex-Husky wide receiver Luther Leonard was arrested Monday in connection with the holdup at the Bank of America branch in Newcastle on July 1st.  His alleged accomplice, Jeffrey Pool, is also accused of holding up four other area banks since January.  Leonard, whose bail has been set at 100-thousand dollars, spent most of his career at UW on the scout squad and played two games as a senior during the 2011 season.
