EVERETT, Wash. – Funeral arrangements are being finalized for a Washington State Patrol trooper who was killed in the line of duty.

The body of Sean O’Connell was escorted by dozens of fellow officers yesterday from Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon to an Everett funeral home.

O’Connell, who was on his motorcycle Friday while helping direct traffic around the collapsed I-5 bridge over the Skagit River, died after being hit by a truck.

He was 38 years old.
