WASHINGTON STATE – Heroin use appears to be on the rise among young people in Washington.
That’s according to a new study released by the University of Washington’s Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute.
The study shows overdose deaths from heroin and related opiates have more than doubled in the past decade in ten Washington counties.
Meanwhile, the number of people testing positive for heroin in police-administered tests has nearly tripled since 2007.
