High school bond goes to ballot

FERNDALE, Wash. – Ferndale residents will have to decide in February if they want to fund the remodel of Ferndale’s high schools.

The Ferndale school board approved the $125 million bond at a meeting earlier this week.

The bond will fund rebuilding the district’s high schools, Ferndale and Windward.

The board says over 1,500 students would be at the improved Ferndale High School and up to 400 at Windward.

If approved, the bond would increase property taxes for the average $200,000 home by $344 each year.

The measure will be on Ferndale’s February 11 ballot.
