WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. – There’s a nasty stomach bug making its way around Whatcom County.

Marcus Deyerin with the Whatcom County Health Department says they think it’s a strain of the highly-contagious Norovirus.

People need to take precautions if they start to have symptoms of vomiting or diarrhea.

He says thankfully this stomach bug only lasts for about 24 hours.

Most people recover in about one or two days with lots of rest and fluids.

If someone gets the virus and doesn’t recover in this time period or becomes dehydrated, they should see their doctor.
