OLYMPIA, Wash. – A bill that would raise Washington state’s gasoline tax by 10.5 cents a gallon is heading to the Senate.
The House approved the bill last night after it failed to pass by a slim margin the night before.
The plan includes an increase in the gas tax by 6 cents a gallon starting August 1, and another 4.5 cents beginning July 1 of next year.
The measure is expected to have a tough time gaining passage in the Senate.
