BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The City of Bellingham wants the community’s input on new affordable housing proposals.
Housing Program and Block Grant Manager David Stalheim says there are eight proposals vying for housing levy funds.
Mayor Kelli Linville says all of these proposals would provide safe, affordable housing that’s also sustainable.
The proposals are for funding new housing, supporting current housing or for building new homes for low-income home buyers.
The comment period runs through September 12.
The city’s Community Development Advisory Board will then make recommendations to the Mayor.
Final awards for the housing levy funds are expected to be announced by the end of September.
