BELLINGHAM, Wash. – About 300 applications were submitted for marijuana business licenses yesterday.
It was the first day to apply to be a pot producer, processor or retailer.
Licenses will not be granted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The state Liquor Control Board will evaluate each application and make a decision on which ones they will grant licenses to.
The board will start reviewing them as soon as tomorrow.
The majority of applications were done online, with 16 filled out for producer, 70 for retail, 62 for processor and 151 for both producer and processor.
The deadline to submit an application is December 19.
