OLYMPIA, Wash. – Governor Jay Inslee is supporting several measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Washington, including an absolute cap on carbon-fuel emissions.
The governor floated the ideas yesterday during a meeting of the Climate Legislative Executive Workgroup.
Inslee’s other proposals include a reduction of carbon in the state’s electricity power supply and launching a push for energy efficiency in buildings.
GOP members of the work group are expressing skepticism about the cost and effectiveness of the proposals.
