Inslee signs $33.6 billion budget

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Washington’s new fiscal period begins with a budget in place, after Governor Jay Inslee signed the $33.6 billion spending plan yesterday.

The Legislature gave the budget final passage Friday, averting a partial shutdown of the state government that would have taken effect today.

The budget includes an additional $1 billion for public education in Washington and no general tax increase.
