Seattle Mariners ace Felix Hernandez pitched one scoreless inning in the 2013 Major League Baseball all-Star game Tuesday. Hernandez threw 13 pitches, facing 4 batters at Citi Field in New York.
Hernandez gave up just 1-hit in the 4th inning holding on to a 1-0 American League lead. He worked out of a bit of a jam after giving up the hit to Carlos Beltran and allowing a stolen base to pinch runner Andrew McCutchen by stranding the Pirate All-Star at third base.
The Mariners other All-Star representative Hisashi Iwakuma was not eligible to play after pitching Sunday for Seattle. He was replaced on the AL roster by Royals closer Greg Holland.
