Letter urges Inslee to see bigger job picture

KGMI News Reporting

A new group called the Alliance for Northwest Jobs and Exports has sent a letter to Governor Jay Inslee urging him to consider other job creation projects outside the central Puget Sound area.

Lynden Mayor Scott Korthuis signed the letter.

He says the coalition doesn’t like how Inslee has rolled out the “red carpet” so-to-speak for Boeing and King County.

Some members of the coalition include local lawmakers, the Association of Washington Business and the Washington Farm Bureau.

Korthuis says they want the governor to focus on other projects like the proposed Gateway Pacific Terminal that would create jobs in Whatcom County.
