OLYMPIA, Wash. – Washington Department of Ecology has a new list of clean water projects that will get funding now that the state Legislature has passed a budget.

Seven projects in Whatcom County are on the list.

Bellingham is getting more than $2 million in grant and loan money to re-route and restore a degraded stream channel of Squalicum Creek.

Sandy Howard with Ecology says the work will improve the stream’s problems with temperature and fish habitat.
