Local Red Cross responding to Colorado flood relief efforts

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Mount Baker chapter of the American Red Cross is preparing to help with the flood rescue and relief efforts in Colorado.

Executive Director Stacy Rice says the Red Cross already has 250 disaster workers deployed in Colorado and the relief efforts need to be expanded quickly.

They need local volunteers who they can go to Colorado for three weeks.

She says this will be a long-term effort, so any donations to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund are appreciated.

People can donate $10 by texting “redcross” to 90999.
