Local Tea Partiers protest IRS

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — About a hundred people gathered downtown Tuesday to protest against the IRS.

Whatcom Tea Party board member Kris Haltermann says they got a great response.

The Whatcom Tea Party sponsored protest took place in front of the IRS building at West Magnolia Street and Cornwall Ave.

Halterman says she thinks everyone is alarmed by the recent reports that the IRS targeted tea party groups and lied about it.

Many people held signs saying “End IRS corruption” and “Honk for freedom.”
